# Enrich fields

> Individual Enrich field IDs and preset bundles.

[Enrich](/api-reference/enrich) currently exposes **538 individual field IDs**
and **14 preset bundles**. Pass IDs in `fields`; pass one bundle name
in `preset`. You can combine them, and duplicate fields appear once.
Omitting both selectors requests every field. Each response field also carries
source metadata, interpretation guidance, status and any failure reason.
The table below omits 3 legacy supplier-branded field IDs from the
public reference. The API still accepts those IDs for existing clients.

## Presets

| Preset | Fields |
| - | -: |
| `parcel` | 98 |
| `zoning` | 16 |
| `buildings` | 21 |
| `valuation` | 11 |
| `legal` | 10 |
| `power` | 79 |
| `access` | 67 |
| `water` | 21 |
| `terrain` | 21 |
| `environment` | 39 |
| `climate` | 28 |
| `hazards` | 79 |
| `market` | 28 |
| `constraints` | 20 |

A preset is an exact bundle. For example, `"fields": ["zoning"]` requests
one individual field, while `"preset": "zoning"` requests the zoning bundle.

Blank for lead/SO2/NO2 (which EPA never classifies) and for maintenance-only points — this field collects classifications from NONATTAINMENT matches only, so a point whose classified areas are all Maintenance reads blank here even though those areas carry a published classification. For a single pollutant's own classification (not this cross-pollutant max), and for maintenance classifications, use air\_quality\_\<pollutant>\_classification instead (e.g. air\_quality\_ozone\_classification, air\_quality\_pm25\_classification). |

| `coast_distance_m` | float | meters | NOAA\_CUSP | water | Geodesic distance from the queried point to the nearest point on the nearest NOAA CUSP shoreline feature (measured to the SEGMENT, not to a vertex). CUSP charts every tidal shoreline it maps — open coast, bays and estuaries, the full tidal reach of rivers, and harbour structures such as bulkheads, wharves and breakwaters — so this is distance to NOAA-mapped SHORELINE, not distance to open ocean. A tidal-river waterfront therefore reads metres while the open sea is a hundred kilometres away: Philadelphia reads \~13 m against \~89 km of open sea, and the Anacostia in DC reads a few hundred metres against \~163 km. The value is only large where no CUSP feature is near at all (interior states). A small value therefore does NOT establish marine exposure on its own, and cannot carry a storm-surge inference until the matched shoreline is independently confirmed to be marine — stated here as well as in the interpretation hints, because the public field-catalog table renders descriptions only. Channelized inland water (Man-made.Canal\*, Man-made.Lock) is excluded. Always populated. |
| `coastal_high_hazard` | bool | — | FEMA\_NFHL | hazards | True if the FEMA flood zone is V-family (V/VE/V1-30) — a coastal high-hazard area subject to high-velocity wave action (breaking waves >= 3 ft). |

| `open_ocean_distance_m` | float | meters | NATURAL\_EARTH\_OCEAN | water | Geodesic distance to the OPEN SEA, where open sea means the water still connected to the deep ocean once every entrance narrower than 20 km is sealed - that is, what lies outside the continental landmass. Bays, sounds, estuaries and tidal rivers are INSIDE that boundary, not part of it, so Baltimore Inner Harbor reads about 139 km and Philadelphia about 90 km even though both sit on tidal water. Points on the outer coast read metres (Santa Monica 40 m, Virginia Beach 450 m, Galveston 890 m). This is NOT the same question as coast\_distance\_m, which measures to the nearest tidal shoreline of any kind and is the right field for river frontage, port access or tidal exposure; at a bay head the two differ by 100 km or more and both are correct. Returns 0 for a point already in open water, and a large distance rather than a null for an inland point (about 1,365 km in Denver). Great Lakes shoreline is not open sea under this definition and is excluded by construction, since the source ocean polygon contains no lakes. Coverage is the US and its offshore approaches, not the whole coordinate envelope: the open-sea polygon is derived over five processing domains covering about 69 percent of the accepted envelope, and every US shoreline sits inside them (asserted at build time). Outside them - the open North Pacific west of 135W below 46N, and north of 56N - the field is ABSENT rather than a number, because out there the polygon's nearest edge is where a processing box clipped the geometry rather than a coastline, and a distance to that edge would be fiction. No US site is affected. |
